ILA Atlantic Coast District 37th Quadrennial Convention Kicks Off On Tuesday, July 18th at Diplomat Hotel; Hundreds of ILA Convention Delegates and Guests Making Way To Hollywood, Florida
HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (July 13, 2023) The 37th Quadrennial Convention of the Atlantic Coast District (ACD), International Longshoremen’s Association, is set to begin in five days with delegates making their way south to Hollywood, Florida where the three-day convention kicks off on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023. The Diplomat Beach Resort Hotel in Hollywood, Florida will host the ACD Convention where ILA members from U.S. Atlantic Coast ports stretching from Maine south to Virginia; Great Lakes Ports on the U.S. and Canadian sides, Puerto Rico, Eastern Canada and now, for the first time in the union’s 131-year history, delegates from the Bahamas will be seated at the convention.

Vigneron, the President of the ACD. “We have an impressive list of speakers from labor, shipping, government, and the professional health field, to go along with important convention business and fun social activities for ILA delegates and their families to enjoy.”
Elections of officers to serve the next four-year term for the Atlantic Coast District will take place on the final day of the ACD conclave, on Thursday, July 20, 2023. ACD President Vigneron will be running for a third term as the leader of the North Atlantic ILA District and delegates will elect two other ACD executive officers, plus Vice Presidents and Executive Board members. The hundreds of ACD delegates participating in this 37th Quadrennial Convention have three busy days of work. Registration for the ACD convention begins on Sunday, July 16th and continues Monday, July 17th.
International ILA President Harold J. Daggett is the ACD’s Keynote speaker and will deliver remarks at the opening session on Tuesday. Also slated to address ACD delegates at the opening session include Michael Maron, President Holy Name Medical Center; Adam Tindall-Schlicht, Administrator, Great Lakes Seaway Development Corporation; John Daggett, ACD General Vice President and Stephen Knott, International Secretary-Treasurer.
The Honorable Jeffrey Bullock, Secretary of State for Delaware will address ACD delegates on the second day of the convention. Dennis A. Daggett, International Executive Vice President; Anissa Frucci, Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration, United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) and Alan Robb, the President of the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District will round out the speakers on day two. Throughout the ACD Convention, delegates and guests will hear from every port area within the ILA’s ACD jurisdiction.
Following the ACD Convention, the International’s 55th Quadrennial Convention will begin with registration on Saturday and Sunday, July 22nd and 23rd, followed by the four-day convention July 24-27, 2023.
