Ron Misiti Unanimously Reelected President of ILA Local 824 Along With Six Other Officers
NORTH BERGEN, NJ (July 29, 2021). Ron Misiti was unanimously reelected President of ILA Local 824, after leading his membership and local through one of its toughest year and a half periods, due to the devastation caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic that shut down the Passenger Cruise Industry where Local 824 members worked. ILA Local 824 members recognized President Misiti and his other Executive Officer’s efforts to find work for them throughout the Port of New York and New Jersey and protect their medical benefits. Local 824 Members Unanimously reelected Peter Misiti as Vice President; William Cox as Secretary-Treasurer; Guy Pennisi as Recording Secretary; Vincent Millote as Sergeant at-Arms and Ryan Novak and Anthony Musi as Trustees. “I’m grateful to the membership of ILA Local 824 for their demonstration of support,” said President Misiti. “They’ve all been through a tough 18-month period where all our futures seemed uncertain. Our ILA Local 824 members will be working passenger cruise ships again in September and we’re all hoping for a bright, prosperous future.” President Misiti announced the first passenger cruise sailing out of Manhattan’s West Side Terminal following the shutdown in March 2020, will be on Friday, September 24, 2021.
