ILA Welcomes Back Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey

ILA WELCOMES BACK FORMER NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR JIM MCGREEVEY

NORTH BERGEN, NJ (February 21, 2024)- On Tuesday night, February 20, 2024, the ILA’s New York-New Jersey District Council welcomed former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey to its monthly meeting at Forno’s of Spain Restaurant in Newark, New Jersey.

Fresh off the ILA endorsement for Jim McGreevey’s campaign for Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey 2025, the ILA’s District Council got to hear from the former governor. Mr. McGreevey pledged to continue his support and build on his longstanding and productive relationship with the ILA and its members.

ILA Secretary-Treasurer Steve Knott praised Mr. McGreevey for being one of the first New State leaders to challenge the Waterfront Commission which led to its demise in New Jersey last year. “Governor McGreevey has been an ILA friend for many decades and we’re proud to endorse him for Mayor of Jersey City,” Secretary-Treasurer Knott told the ILA New York-New Jersey District Council officers and delegates.
