ILA Expands Fund Raising Efforts For Members Affected By Hurricane Irma and Harvey

NORTH BERGEN, NJ – (September 15, 2017) ILA President Harold Daggett has expanded the union’s fund raising effort created in the wake of Hurricane Harvey to now include ILA port areas in Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina that saw destruction from Hurricane Irma. In a letter sent this week to ILA members, President Daggett wrote: “With Hurricane Irma coming so quickly on the heels of Hurricane Harvey and involving not only the states of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, but also the island of Puerto Rico, the International has now expanded the Fund to become the ILA Disaster Relief Fund.

President Daggett is asking all ILA members and Locals to continue to contribute to this ILA Disaster Relief Fund. He also instructed ILA locals in all affected areas to collect information from those members who have suffered losses as a result of Hurricane Harvey and Irma. An ILA committee from its Executive Officers will be formed and will make donations based on the amount received and the needs of its members.
