Kudos to ILA’s Atlantic Coast District Civil Rights Committee, led by chairman W. Bernard Dudley, President of ILA Local 1233, for organizing a Thanksgiving Day Breakfast and Coat, Gloves and Scarfs collection drive to help those in need in the City of Newark. Scores of volunteers from ILA Local 1233 were joined by International General Vice President Jerry Owens, who chairs the ILA’s Alexander Talmadge/Edward L. Brown, Sr., Civil, Women’s and Human Rights Committee, participating in the Thanksgiving morning event. The Essex and Union County Chapters of the A. Phillip Randolph Institute also hosted this event at ILA Local 1233 headquarters. The event was held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the photos tell the whole happy story. Thank you to all ILA members who sacrificed their time and energy on Thanksgiving morning to give back to the community.
