NORTH BERGEN, NJ – The International Longshoremen’s Association, AFL-CIO mourns the passing on Thursday, July 23, 2020 of Raul Vasquez, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer, ILA Local 1814, Brooklyn.
“We have lost one of our finest ILA officers in Raul Vasquez, Jr.,” said International President Harold J. Daggett. “Raul epitomized the very best as a husband, father and ILA union official. His contributions were vast, and his memory will endure. His ILA longshore family from Maine To Texas, Great Lakes region, Canada and Puerto Rico extend deepest sympathies to his beloved wife, Rosie Centeno Vasquez, and his entire family.”
A wake for Brother Vasquez will be held this Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 12 noon to 7 pm at McManus Funeral Home, 4601 Avenue N, Brooklyn, New York. On Thursday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 2331 Gerritsen Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
