ILA’s Dennis Daggett Leads ILA Delegation to Maritime Union of Australia Quadrennial National Conference 2024 in Adelaide, South Australia; ILA Executive Vice President Will Address the Large Global Gathering in Australia
Dennis A. Daggett, the International Executive Vice President, and the General Coordinator of the world-wide International Dockworkers’ Council, will be a featured speaker at the Maritime Union of Australia Quadrennial National Conference 2024, to be held this coming week, Monday, February 26 to Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Adelaide Convention Centre in Adelaide, South Australia.
International ILA President Harold Daggett designated Dennis Daggett to lead an ILA delegation to the MUA Quadrennial Conference and address the gathering that will feature a global audience of MUA delegates, international guests, national union leaders, Australian Parliamentarians and Government Ministers.
The ILA delegation will be welcomed to the MUA Conference by Paddy Crumlin, MUA National Secretary and the President of the International Transport Workers Federation. Addressing the MUA Conference, the ILA Executive Vice President Daggett will bring the fraternal greetings of the ILA’s 85,000 members and thank National Secretary Crumlin and the MUA for their international solidarity assistance helping the ILA protect its jobs and jurisdiction handling Wind Turbine Equipment produced by Ørsted company. Daggett will also update MUA delegates on the ILA’s Master Contract Negotiations that will occur in 2024.
According to MUA National Secretary Crumlin, “the MUA Quadrennial National Conference is a significant event in the governance of our union, establishing and shaping the priorities and policies of the union: putting us on course for the next four years and beyond.”
ILA President Harold Daggett has sent a video message to the MUA Quadrennial National Conference where he thanks Paddy Crumlin and the MUA for their support of the ILA in the Ørsted dispute and reiterates the ILA’s strong endorsement for the reelection of Paddy Crumlin as ITF President.
