Dear Sister and Brother ILA Members
As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. Your hard work, loyalty, and dedication to the International Longshoremen’s Association, are the backbone of everything we achieve together.
Your work has real value —day in and day out, often in challenging conditions— and is vital not only to our union but to the communities and industries we serve. Your commitment ensures the steady flow of goods that sustain families, businesses, and economies, and for that, our nation owes you our deepest thanks.
Beyond the workplace, I want to acknowledge the sacrifices made by your families. They are your greatest supporters, standing by you as you uphold the values of this proud union. Please know that their strength and patience are recognized and deeply appreciated.
On this Thanksgiving, I wish you and your loved ones joy, peace, and a well-deserved time of rest and celebration. Thank you for all that you do and for the unity that makes our union strong.
In solidarity and gratitude,
Harold J. Daggett
International President
