NORTH BERGEN, NJ (Nov. 29, 2016) – The International Longshoremen’s Association has scheduled “informal meetings on collective bargaining issues” during the week of February 13th, 2017 and has invited its locals at ports from Maine to Texas to participate.
ILA President Harold J. Daggett sent a letter in mid-November to all ILA Local Unions covered by the Master Contract inviting each local’s president and designated representatives to attend informal meetings in Delray Beach, Florida, to discuss “collective bargaining issues.” The ILA’s current six-year Master Contract is in effect for another 22 months, until September 30, 2018.
President Daggett noted, “These are not Wage Scale Committee meetings and therefore not formal bargaining sessions.”
President Daggett indicated that ILA locals would meet privately on Monday, February 13th and Tuesday, February 14th and then with management at joint meetings on Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 16th, 2017.
These informal meetings will be held at the Delray Beach Marriott Hotel, 10 North Ocean Boulevard, Delray Beach, Florida.
