NORTH BERGEN, NJ – (June 2, 2025) William B Sampson IV, a member of Local 1588, International Longshoremen’s Association and the incumbent candidate for the New Jersey Assembly, District 31, is confident ILA members and their families living in Hudson County’s Bayonne, Jersey City and Kearney , will turn out to vote on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 and support his re-election bid.

The ILA has endorsed Assemblyman Sampson, with International President Harold J. Daggett calling him a “true champion for working families in New Jersey.”

“We are proud to again support Assemblyman Sampson for re-election to the New Jersey Assembly, District 31,” said President Daggett. “The ILA is grateful to have one of its members fighting for us in Trenton.”

Assemblyman Sampson has served in the General Assembly since 2022 and has served as Deputy Speaker for the past two years. He chairs the Consumer Affairs Committee and is Vice-Chair of the Labor Committee. Current New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy endorsed Assemblyman Sampson for re-election to the 31st District earlier this week, saying “William has been a strong voice for the people of Bayonne, Kearn and Jersey City – providing tax relief for homeowners and renters, funding our public schools, reducing crime, and supporting small businesses.”

“I urge all our ILA members and their families who reside in William Sampson’s district to vote in the June 10th primary,” said ILA President Daggett.
