ILA District Council Honors Two Locals Celebrating Over 100 Years Of Affiliation

Two ILA Locals, whose charters date back more than a century, were honored on Tuesday evening by the New York-New Jersey District Council, International Longshoremen’s Association, AFL-CIO. District Council President Charles Ward presented plaques to officers from Manhattan ILA Local 824 and Staten Island Local 920. The plaques featured each local’s charter 20 dates: ILA Local 824 has been around since November 12, 1912 and ILA Local 920 was chartered on May 2, 1916. ILA Local 824 President Ron Misiti and Secretary-Treasurer Billy Cox accepted the award for their local. ILA Local 920 Michael Izzo, Secretary-Treasurer and Business Agent, accepted the plaque for his local.
