Two ILA Locals, whose charters date back more than a century, were honored on Tuesday evening by the New York-New Jersey District Council, International Longshoremen’s Association. District Council President Charles Ward presented plaques to officers from Manhattan ILA Local 824 and Staten Island Local 920. The plaques featured each local’s charter 20 dates: ILA Local 824 has been around since November 12, 1912 and ILA Local 920 was chartered on May 2, 1916. ILA Local 824 President Ron Misiti and Secretary-Treasurer Billy Cox accepted the award for their local. ILA Local 920 Michael Izzo, Secretary-Treasurer and Business Agent, accepted the plaque for his local.
