Today the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) amended its Complaint in the New Jersey Superior Court in order to add Orient Overseas Container Line, Ltd. (OOCL) as a defendant in the lawsuit that the ILA had previously filed against to Hapag-Lloyd AG and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX). This amendment was prompted when OOCL elected to send one of its container vessels to a marine terminal that employs container-handling workers who are not covered by the Master Contract between the ILA and USMX. The lawsuit seeks an additional $100,000,000 from OOCL.
