ILA A Big Part of 2016 New York City Labor Day Parade; Staten Island’s Local 920 Leads Big ILA Contingent Up Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue
The International Longshoremen’s Association is a big part of the Port of New York and New Jersey and on Saturday, September 10, 2016, ILA members and their families made sure the ILA was a big part of the Annual New York Labor Day Parade, organized and sponsored by the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
Led by a large contingent of marchers from ILA Local 920 in Staten Island, along with other New York ILA based locals, 1814 and 824, ILA members and their families proudly joined with tens of thousands of fellow union marchers in the Labor Day Parade.
“The ILA demonstrated they are a big part of the union picture in New York City,” commented Peter Clark from ILA Local 1804-1 who represents the ILA as a Vice President and Executive Board member on the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. “It was an honor for the ILA to once again be a part of the annual Labor Day Parade.”
