PORT OF NY/NJ – (November 9, 1935) ILA International President Joseph P. Ryan calls strike of 500 Longshoremen in Port Newark, NJto support the already striking Teamsters Union and Chauffeur’s Union. Ryan, in photo below, was the fourth President in ILA history and served the membership from 1927-1953.
