Calling All ILA Members: Help Support Your Lisbon, Portugal Dockers Sisters and Brothers With Purchase of Solidarity T-Shirts; Funds To Aide Portuguese Dockers On Strike For 20 Months!
NORTH BERGEN, NJ – (October 22, 2021) – The International Longshoremen’s Association is calling on its members, families and friends to purchase Solidarity T-Shirts that feature the International Dockers slogan: “If We Are Together It’s Impossible To Fail” on the front and the logos of the ILA, International Dockworkers’ Council and SEAL (Portuguese Dockers Union “Sindicato dos Estivadores e da Actividade Logística” under the heading “I Support Lisbon Dockers” on the back. The shirts are selling for $25.00 with proceeds going to support our Sisters and Brother Dockworkers in Portugal who have been on strike for nearly two years.
“Our Brothers and Sister Dockers from SEAL in Lisbon, Portugal have been out of work since February 2020 and we’re asking all our ILA family to get behind their efforts with the purchase of these Solidarity T-Shirts,” said International ILA President Harold J. Daggett. “Please help support our solidarity campaign from which all the profits from T-shirt sales will go directly to the economic support of our struggling Portuguese Sisters, Brothers and their families.
