Family Members of the late Gen. Patrick J. Kelly, ILA’s Military Consultant & ILA President Harold Daggett’s Brother-In-Law, Raising Funds In His Memory With “Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) – Light the Night Walk in Doylestown, Pa. on Sept. 28th

NORTH BERGEN, NJ (September 14, 2024) Major General (Ret.) Patrick J. Kelly, a respected member of the International Longshoremen’s Association, where he served as Military Consultant for many years, following a distinguished 33-year military career, and who passed away five years ago, will be honored and remembered by his wife, Marilyn and daughter, Karen, who are participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk in Doylestown, Pa. on September 28, 2024.

“In light of the 5th Anniversary of Patrick J. Kelly’s passing, Marilyn & Karen are walking as a team for ‘The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) – Light the Night event in Doylestown, Pa on 9/28/24 to bring healing and light to the darkness of cancer!” the Kelly family wrote on their fund-raising team page (link below). “Please join us in providing hope to patients and their families through a thoughtful donation and help fund cancer cures!”

Gen. Kelly’s widow, Marilyn Kelly is a sister of ILA President Harold J. Daggett. Karen Kelly, Harold’s niece, is organizing the walk and fund-raising efforts in honor of her late father.

“Mom and I are honoring my Father’s 5th Year Anniversary of his passing by bring light and hope to the many patients battling blood cancers,” said Karen Kelly. “With our outpouring of love and healing through our current fundraising campaign, we can keep my Father’s spirit alive and truly help those blood cancer patients in need of cures.”

Gen. Kelly’s 33-year military career included two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, a Near East Project in Israel supporting the 1979 Camp David Peace Accord, a tour of duty during the Gulf War in Kuwait and various commands throughout the U.S. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal (two awards); Meritorious Service Award (two awards); Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
