NORTH BERGEN, NJ – (May 17, 2024) – The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) begins a new partnership in 2024 with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and will kick-off raising funds for the world renowned and respected institution by raising funds at the 31st Annual USMX-ILA Children’s Fund Charity Golf Outing at Forsgate Country Club, scheduled for Monday, May 20, 20024.
The charity event is sold out and the leaders of the ILA and USMX are expected to present a check to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital on Monday for over $100,000.00. The annual USMX-ILA charity event has raised over $8 million in three decades for children’s charities.

“We are proud to announce that the ILA and USMX will use its Children’s Fund Charity to support one of the greatest and most caring institutions – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – where families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live,” said the ILA and USMX said in a joint statement earlier this year when the partnership with St. Jude’s was announced . “The healing hands of St. Jude extend to all parts of the globe, offering customized care for some of the world’s sickest children.”

Nearly 300 golfers will fill the Banks and Palmer courses at Forsgate on Monday, May 20 and tee off at 11 am. An expected crowd 500 persons will attend the dinner and awards ceremony later in the day.

“The ILA and USMX noted that St. Jude is consistently ranked as one of the best places to donate by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. The ILA and USMX added that St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes to help doctors and researchers at local hospitals and cancer centers around the world improve the quality of treatment and care for even more children.

For the past three decades, the ILA and USMX raised over $8 million for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which also is devoted to caring for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

ILA President Harold Daggett, like St. Jude founder Danny Thomas, has maintained a life-long devotion to Saint Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of hopeless causes, and is grateful the USMX-ILA Children’s Fund will now be raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

“I thank USMX for joining with the ILA to continue to help raise funds for children with cancer and that we will now be dedicating our efforts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said President Daggett.
