International Vice President Vince Cameron elected President of ILA’s Southeast Dock & Marine Council and Will Assume Office Held By ILA’s Wilbur Rowell For Over 15 Years

(April 14, 2021) International Vice-President Vince Cameron was elected as President of the Southeastern Dock & Marine Council (SEDMC). The presidents of the South Atlantic and South Florida district met in Savannah, Georgia on April 7th and elected the slate of representatives that will lead the SEDMC for the next three years.

President Cameron replaces International General Vice President Wilbur Rowell as president of the council when President Rowell decided not to seek re-election after serving five terms. Cameron is a second-generation longshoreman, with 30 plus years in the industry. He has served as chairman of the District Escrow, former President of the Jacksonville Local 1408 and current International Vice President.

Cameron states that he is honored by the faith the presidents placed in his ability to lead the council and looks forward to taking council forward by providing a platform for education, negotiations and empowerment. Re-elected to the post of Vice President, council secretary and assistant secretary were Benjamin Bryan, Micah Johnson and Romia Johnson respectively.
